Flower Fundraiser for JAMS PTSA and SCPTSA
**NEW!** Flower Fundraiser for JAMS PTSA and Seattle Council PTSA

Hey JAMS Jaguars and Community,

The school year has started, but many of our families and students need additional support to make sure they do not fall further behind given our remote learning environment and systemic failures. Please consider buying a mixed bouquet to support advocacy, organizing, and material support to families of color and special education students. $5 from each $25 bouquet or bundle of dahlias will come back to the JAMS PTSA for equity work, $5 will go to a Title I Pool / SCPTSA to support Title I schools across our district (and BONUS: the other $15 goes straight back to our local Hmong flower farmers). Any donation received above the price of the flowers will go to the Title I Pool.

Please fill out this form at tinyurl.com/flowers4JAMS by Thursday, September 24th, 8pm. This will allow us enough time to submit an order to the farmers and for them to harvest and make your bouquet fresh!

You may pay via Venmo to Friendly-Vang-Johnson (last 4 digits of her phone: 2284) or cash or check made out to Friendly Vang-Johnson at pickup/delivery. Pick up your flowers at JAMS on Saturday, September 26th 3-5pm. Remember to wear your mask and practice social distancing! For an extra $10 donation, our volunteers, including JAMS middle schoolers, will deliver your bouquet to any NE Seattle address that same weekend.Yes, this is community in action!

Friendly (mom of 8th grader Alejandro, and Community Outreach Chair) will coordinate and order our flowers from the Hmong flower farmers. Please reach out to Friendly at JAMSPTSAequity@gmail.com with any questions. See you on the 26th – Go Jaguars!

Volunteer Corner**New!**
Why did the Jaguar volunteer? Because he “spotted” the need!

Classes may be virtual, but our need for volunteers isn’t!  While we are still identifying exact opportunities for our parents and community to volunteer, you can get a jump start by completing the online Seattle School District Volunteer Application below.

PLEASE NOTE!  If you are a returning volunteer there is no need to complete a new application if you applied online after August 15, 2018 and were approved by your school. Before your volunteer application expires, you will receive an email with instructions on how to renew your volunteer application. Volunteer Application Process – Seattle Public Schools
SPS serves 53,000 vulnerable children and youth – we are committed to carefully screening volunteer candidates to ensure student safety as required by law, SPS policies, and the Washington Schools Risk Insurance Pool. www.seattleschools.org
