Dear JAMS Families-
Now that our orientation days are over, students will return to their normal schedule starting on Friday. For your reference we have posted the daily schedules here.
Opening Day Packets went home today with your student. Please dig through those backpacks as there are a couple of forms that need prompt attention:
- Picture Day is next Tuesday, September 9th during your student's Language Arts class. Please have your student bring in the picture form, unless you order prints online.
- There are a group of forms that are stapled together with a bright yellow sheet on top. Those forms are: Privacy Act/Opt Out; Health Registration; Network Authorization; Confidential Student Housing; Emergency Information & Student Release. These forms must be filled out and returned by Friday, September 19th.
There are some optional forms in the package that should be returned by September 19th as well.
Traffic & Safety
Thank you to all our families that have followed our traffic flow pattern, students who are crossing streets legally and safely, as well as our volunteers who have helped make the first couple of drop offs/pick ups go smoothly. Our PTSA goal this year is not a single injury or car accident. Please help us meet the goal by following the traffic safety tips posted on the JAMS PTSA website.
The Traffic Safety Committee is meeting with the City of Seattle next Wednesday before school to observe traffic flow and safety issues. We will advocate for more cross-walks, sidewalks, signage, bike racks and safer drop-off spots for families. Please see our updates and next steps after that meeting and thank you for your patience as we work with the City.
We understand that the pedestrian entrance gate on 31st Avenue NE has been locked. That gate will be unlocked starting on Friday so students can exit cars on 31st Avenue NE and proceed immediately into the building without crossing through the back parking lot (which is for staff/faculty vehicles only and unsafe for pedestrian passage).

- Wednesday, September 24th - 2 hour Early Dismissal (Students will be released at 12:20 PM)
