For those who were in town, thanks for coming over tonight! And thanks to all of you for volunteering. It's a new PTSA, and a lot of us are new to the school and our roles, so do ask questions. The local and state PTA websites also have a lot of good info. and offer trainings.
Tonight's agenda was simply to put names to faces and figure out what needs be done before school starts. We talked about sending out an email to the school community on Monday, to include info. such as: where to find the master calendar, what to do if you have a scheduling question, volunteer needs, NatureBridge info., invite to our Fall Potluck (and first general PTSA meeting), curriculum night, traffic/transportation updatge, etc. Please send me anything you'd like included. We also talked about Carmen and Elizabeth swapping roles (PTSA president and VP) and the need to vote on it at the first general meeting to make it official. We decided to combine the Fall Potluck with that first general meeting on Sept. 17. Details to come.
We met one of the new assistant vice principals, Nerissa Hallberg. Paula (the principal) came by, too. She says the counselors have been working hard to get schedules out without a registrar and could use some extra love.
We decided that standing PTSA board meetings would be the second Mondays of the month, unless decided otherwise, so mark your calendars to meet in the JAMS library on Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
